London Fashion Week A/W - Day 3

Preen By Thornton Bregazzi
Although the collection was predominately black, an injection of colour came by way of patterned fabrics and multi coloured embellishments sewn onto shirts, skirts and dresses.
Strong lines were created through two tone collared shirts buttoned up to the neck, multi layering and the use of zips. This conjoined with tailored skirts, lace and sheer fabric gave the clothes a very androgynous feel.
I loved the bold asymmetric collars and shirt panels, leather layered skirts and the way in which they were coupled with delicate fabrics which gave the collection a strong and edgy feel.

An explosion of gold hit the catwalk in an array of forms such as tailored trousers, fitted jackets, pencil skirts and dresses. Gold sequins and embellishments were also used to trim pockets, cuffs and necklines with delicate piping, buttons and bows adding another dimension to the design.

1940’s pussy bows were teamed with embroidered shirts, shirts and jackets reminiscent of a Spanish matador and ¾  and full length luxurious capes were lined with brightly coloured silk.
This collection was full of opulence, elegance and diversity.

Marios Schwarb

Monochrome fitted mini dresses with embroidered leather detailing across the chest and hips and full length capes took centre stage at the Marios Schwarb show.
Abstract layering was created by wrapping wide split ¾ length skirts over sheer long sleeved mini and cape style dresses. Contrasts of texture were created through the use of leather and sheer panelling and ornate sequins.
I’m a big fan of capes and therefore was immediately drawn to this collection and thought the decision to keep the dresses and capes entirely monochrome was incredibility striking.

Temperley
A multitude of colours including black, blue, charcoal, green, gold and white were used to create a very colourful, stylish and elegant collection.
Metallic fabrics with striking designs were used throughout the collection in the form of dresses, skirts, tops and coats. This gave the garments a luxurious feel and oozed glamour.
Loose sailor style trousers reminiscent of the 1920’s were paired with slightly over sized 3/4 length sleeved jackets and elbow length leather gloves.
Feminine tailored A-line skirts and dresses were teamed with fine knitwear and finished off with thin patent leather belts and seamed stockings.
I love the diversity of designs, the bright colours and the fabrics used.  I was particularly drawn to this collection as some of the designs had a slightly vintage feel which were accentuated by the accessories used.
