Yesterday I went to see the new Disney film Cinderella and was blown away by costumes worn by Cate Blanchett in her role as the wicked step mother. The costumes were created by very talented costume designer Sandy Powell. With three Oscars under her belt and ten nominations it's hardly surprising that she was tasked with the costume design for the whole production.
Powell's costumes evoked the immaculate glamour of the silver screen during the 40's & 50's and the elegance of nineteenth century corsetry. Cate's wonderful portrayal of "Lady Tremaine"captured the audience's attention with her beauty, poise, graceful elegance and menacing nature. Here are my favourite costumes from the film.
