This exhibition is a celebration of French couture, creativity, originality and theatricality that the fashion industry has come to know and love from Jean Paul Gaultier. His impressive career spans 40 years and is explored through 165 pieces made up from haute couture, ready-to-wear and costumes from made for iconic films and artists such as Madonna.

The exhibition begins with a mannequins dressed in various incarnations of Gaultier's iconic Brenton stripes, sailor hats. Gaultier was heavily influenced by London's street culture and the punk era of the 1970's. This inspired him to explore anti materialist and non-conformist fashion, experiment with kilts, leather, tartan, camouflage, recycled materials and rebellious designs.
