Wedding

My sister Mel and her fiancĂ© Ian got married on 25th May in a 1950's style wedding at the Maison Tolbooth in Dedham. The sun was shining, the ceremony was beautiful and Mel looked absolutely stunning in her Justin Alexander gown.

The dress was a 1950's inspired strapless dress with a ivory Venice lace and beaded bodice, multi layered tea length tulle skirt and silk dupioni silk sash.

Mel wore this with a pair of shoes which she designed at Shoes of Prey http://www.shoesofprey.com, which is a fantastic website where you can choose from 12 different types of shoe shapes ranging from stilettos, ballet pumps, sandals, boots, brogues and wedges. 170 fabrics such as suede, leather, silk, patent leather, cotton, hair, snake and fish skin, lace and glitter and an abundance of colours options. This is an Australian company and ship to all over the world.

The shoes were beautifully made to Mel's specification, super comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. Her head piece was made by Lilly Lewis who creates vintage millinery bespoke hats and fascinators http://www.lillylewis.co.uk. Mel's headpiece was elongated kidney shaped, ivory silk base with orange crushed velvet pressed flowers and ivory netting.

Sarah and I wore purple bespoke 1950's halter neck fitted bodice dresses with full skirt complete with chocolate coloured netting.
